Directed by Michael Hamilton Wright, “Hostile Takeover” is in Theaters & On Demand August 8th.
Peter Stryker is an affable guy. The kind of man who blends into everyday life — until he doesn’t. He looks like your pal next door or your sister’s husband’s uncle… if your sister’s husband’s uncle was Michael Jai White.
Friendly, well-mannered, and built like a tank, Pete is also a workaholic — a dedicated, hard-working slave to the only profession he’s ever known.
The twist? Pete’s a hitman. And not just any hitman — the hitman. A living legend in the industry. Efficient, professional, and virtually untouchable. But his commitment to the job has come at a cost. Years of cold efficiency have left him isolated, emotionally hollow, and utterly alone.

Every real relationship he’s ever had has collapsed under the weight of his obsession with work.
Recognizing the damage he’s done to himself, Pete takes an unexpected and uncharacteristic step toward healing: he joins a support group. Just regular people — all struggling to find balance in their chaotic lives. But when word of his “emotional outreach” trickles up the food chain, it triggers panic within his organization. To them, Pete’s participation in such a group is a breach of trust. A sign that he’s slipping. Or worse, talking.
Over the course of one relentless night, Pete is hunted through the city by every gang of killers, hit squads, and contract thugs the underworld has to offer — all dispatched by the very people he once served. Their orders: eliminate him with extreme prejudice.

But Pete’s not ready to go down quietly.
Though diplomacy is always his first move — his natural instinct is to talk, to de-escalate — Pete quickly finds that words won’t stop this misunderstanding. So, one by one, Pete is forced to incapacitate or eliminate every enemy in his path, using his unmatched skills, environmental improvisation, and sheer willpower to survive the night and clear his name.
The action is fast, inventive, and brutal. Pete takes his hits, both physical and emotional, but keeps moving forward — determined to find out who initiated this misunderstanding and why. What he uncovers isn’t just a misunderstanding — it’s a power grab, a corporate-style hostile takeover at his expense.

In the end, Pete prevails but just when he thinks he’s in the clear, one final twist forces him to reckon with whether redemption is even possible in his world.
Cast includes; Michael Jai White, Aimee Stolte, and Dawn Olivieri.
